Requirements for Advanced Teacher Certification:
Completed 200 hour certification course
Complete a 6 months meditation journal (24 non-contact hours)
Complete a 1 month diet journal (8 non-contact hours)
Proof that you have taught hatha or meditation a minimum of 100 hours
Complete 132 contact hours of seminars, workshops or retreats through the Himalayan Yoga & Meditation Center: (suggestions)
Yoga Anatomy Pranayama
Yoga Philosophy Yoga Ethics
Attend yoga intensives or classes where you
critique or are critiqued by the teacher.
Demonstrate or correct postures at the 200
Hour Certification Program.
Give a presentation at the Teachers Association
meeting or on your own on a yoga related subject.
Complete 120 contact hours of Hatha and/or meditation classes with a primary teacher training instructor. Meditation class level 1 (6 weeks) and 2 (6 weeks) are required.
Complete 32 non-contact hours as follows:
Thursday evening Satsangs 1 hour each
Full Moon/Global Meditation at HYMC 1 hour each
Monthly Sunday morning study group 1.5 hours each
Quarterly HYMTA meetings (4) 3 hours each
Attend the Annual HYMTA Retreat 16 hours
Volunteer work at HYMC hours worked = hours tallied
Pass board evaluation
Receive mantra-initiation within Himalayan Tradition
Travel and visit to Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama ashram in Rishikesh, India is strongly recommended.
The cost of this course is $300 plus the cost of all classes, workshops and lectures. This fee pays for:
Record keeping
Board exam
Certification
A mentor to work with you as you complete your program.
You have up to three years to complete this course of study. This program will qualify you for Yoga Alliance’s RYT 500 registration.
